You all have different things to work on and finish off. I will list these below so that you can organise your time with Mrs. Gallagher and take turns using the computers for your research and Google Classroom Tasks. Organise yourselves into small groups of two and three to do a small independent research inquiry. Go to Task 5 in the Google Classroom - fill in the questions in the document.
Ask for help from Elena, Indy, Bailey, Finn, Thanoshika - someone who has already started this task. They can show you how to start collecting images and linking video clips to the document.
Next term we will be investigating different animals and animal habitats. Looking forward to next term you might like to start thinking about different environments that you are interested in and some of your favourite animals that you'd like to understand more about. I came across this interesting video made by the BBC about penguins. Take a look - it might surprise you.
Describe a moment in slowmotion Think of a memory (good or bad) and slow it down in your mind so that you can describe it in detail. Consider: thoughts, feelings. the anticipation, the sound, what you see Here are a few video clips to get you thinking. You could use one of them as the basis for your writing. Look really carefully at what happens in each video. What things do you notice that you eye does not normally see?
The Brain Watch this short cartoon to discover the names of different parts of the brain and what they do.
Now for your investigation. In your group... Use this web link -The Human Brain to investigate and find out about the different parts of the human brain. Use the copy sheet to help you to make some notes. 1. Find out the names of the main parts of the brain 2. Find out what each part of the brain controls or does 3. Your choice- decide on a way to show or tell us about the different parts of the brain and say what they do.

Here is a way to do statistics - run around - and make a movie at the same time. We made a set of different lines - like bar graphs - to show some information about our class. Graphs Boys vs Girls Eye Colour: Brown, Blue, Green (other) Hair Colour: Black, Brown, Blond and Red By moving around this activity is more memorable and fun. At the end we made a Human Pie Chart showing class Hair Colour then wriggled away like caterpillars! If you watch closely you should be able to spot which graph is which?
Can you make a statement about the information these human graphs show? Here are some photographs of the graphs to help you visualize what we are trying to show.
What is determination? What does it look like, sound like, feel like? How do you know when someone is being DETERMINED? Take a look at this video of a very determined squirrel - the squirrel wanted to snack on the nuts and used determination to try again and again to find a way to succeed!
Use your thinking about this idea to illustrate the word DETERMINATION in your Learning Journal.
Use a full page - landscape or portrait - use pictures, colour, bold lettering
Make your work Spectacular
Use images and words of when you have been determined.
In maths we were talking about measuring with accuracy and what this means. Here is a short video to help with your understanding of what it means to be accurate. This is amazing accuracy.
Now have a talk about what this word means?
When do we have to be accurate with things?
What things that we use need to be accurate for us?
